About the role
The Optical Specialist at Eyeglass World is a customer-facing role that brings the brand to life through confident service, attention to detail, and ownership of the final moments that matter most, from pre-exam support to eyewear readiness, fitting, and pickup.
Responsibilities
- Create an exceptional customer experience by delivering warm, confident, and personalized service at every stage of the visit.
- Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
- Ensure customers leave feeling confident in both their eyewear and their experience.
- Support clinical and in-store flow by assisting with patient flow and pre-exam screenings to support optometrists.
- Help ensure smooth transitions between exam, finish, and pickup moments.
- Serve as a calm, knowledgeable presence throughout the customer journey.
- Own finish and quality excellence by performing finishing work including final adjustments, inspections, and quality checks.
- Ensure all eyewear meets Eyeglass World standards for fit, function, and presentation.
- Prepare orders for pickup and deliver polished, brand-aligned handoffs.
- Operate with precision and care by supporting order entry, tracking, and timely completion.
- Maintain organized, clean, and efficient finish and retail areas.
- Identify and resolve quality or service issues proactively.
- Bring the brand to life by modeling Eyeglass World service standards, tone, and behaviors in every interaction.
- Uphold visual, experiential, and operational brand standards in the store.
- Partner with the store team to deliver a consistent and elevated experience.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- 1+ year experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service (Required).
- Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills (Required).
- Clear communication and the ability to educate customers effectively (Required).
- Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction at every interaction (Required).
- Support store team in shared goals (Required).
- Bilingual abilities (Preferred).
