About the role

As a sales associate, you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will assist customers, help them recognize the need for our products and services, and articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. This role requires a positive and outgoing nature with a passion for serving others and making a positive impact on the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Proactively engage and connect with customers by asking questions and listening to their needs.
    • Direct customers to merchandise, inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
    • Provide premier customer service, build positive and inclusive relationships, and take accountability for your actions and outcomes.
  • Organization
    • Maintain store appearance.
  • Sales
    • Cross-sell products and understand the store layout.
    • Make personalized suggestions to customers based on the latest trends and current promotions.
    • Upsell products and stay updated on product features and trends using company tools and technology.
    • Operate a Point-of-Sales system, process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, and debit cards.
    • Handle cash accurately, including counting money and returning correct change.
    • Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation tasks.
  • Inventory
    • Manage merchandise, complete inventory processes, and ensure items are properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
    • Participate in periodic inventories as needed.
  • Dependability
    • Adhere to assigned work schedules and follow through accurately on work assignments.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Product Knowledge
    • Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
    • Retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Communication Skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents (e.g., safety rules, operating instructions).
    • Effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
    • Proper telephone etiquette.
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Basic math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Reasoning Ability
    • Ability to multi-task while remaining attentive to customers and flexible to business needs.
    • Work as part of a team and take initiative independently.
  • Physical Demands & Work Environment
    • Constantly moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
    • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
    • Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
    • Work typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
  • Other Skills
    • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.
  • Education & Experience
    • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
    • No prior experience required.

Schedule

Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
