Join us as a Sales Associate at the Jackson Park Mini Mart in Bremerton, WA, supporting the Navy Exchange Service Command. This role is vital in serving military service members and their families, providing them with the tools they need. Responsibilities

• Customer Service:
  • Proactively engage and connect with customers by asking questions to determine their needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card promotions.
  • Provide premier customer service and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
  • Take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
• Organization:
  • Maintain store appearance.
• Sales:
  • Cross-sell products and know the store layout.
  • Make suggestions to customers based on the latest trends and current promotions.
  • Upsell products and learn product features to confidently provide customers with product knowledge.
  • Use a Point-of-Sale system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, and debit cards, including counting money and returning accurate change.
  • Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
• Inventory:
  • Manage merchandise, complete inventory processes, and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
  • May participate in periodic inventories.
• Dependability:
  • Adhere to assigned work schedule and follow through accurately on work assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform job duties.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
• Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• Product Knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of products/merchandise.
• Communication Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
  • Ability to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette.
• Mathematical Skills:
  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to multi-task while remaining attentive to customers and flexible to the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
• Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
  • Work typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
• Other Skills:
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.

Schedule

Part-time (20 - 34.5 hours per week). Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
