Sales Associate II - Part Time

About the role

The Sales Associate II serves customers by displaying, promoting, sizing, pricing, and tagging merchandise in our Cortland Thrifty Shopper store. This position assists store management with running an efficient and service-oriented store, promotes the Rescue Mission, and builds relationships with customers. In the absence of the store manager or assistant store manager, the Sales Associate II is responsible for opening and closing procedures and cash reconciliation at the end of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by greeting customers, offering information, and answering questions.
• Display merchandise by stocking shelves, counters, racks, and tables as needed.
• Promote sales by setting up displays, making announcements as directed, and informing customers of special sales.
• Process payments via cash, checks, sales discounts, and credit cards.
• Maintain a clean and orderly store environment.
• Contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere and comply with procedures and policies to create a safe environment.
• Assist in identifying, reporting, and solving issues to store management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• 1-3 years of retail experience preferred.
• Previous customer-service experience.
• Previous cash register and reconciliation experience preferred.
• Emotionally mature and able to handle stress professionally and in public.
• Ability to work in an unsupervised atmosphere.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and days (nights and weekends required).
• Customer-service oriented with excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to stand for long periods, visually check color-coded racks and sizing by number, and perform bending and lifting.

Pay

$16.30 per hour.
