Sales Associate II - Full Time

About the role

The Sales Associate II serves customers by displaying, promoting, sizing, pricing, and tagging merchandise in our New Hartford Thrifty Shopper store. This position assists store management with running an efficient and service-oriented store, promotes the Rescue Mission, and builds relationships with customers. The role includes opening and closing procedures, cash reconciliation, and maintaining store cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by greeting customers, offering information, and answering questions.
• Handle opening and closing procedures in the absence of the store manager or assistant store manager.
• Perform cash reconciliation at the end of shifts when management is absent.
• Display merchandise by stocking shelves, counters, racks, and tables.
• Promote sales by setting up displays, making announcements, and informing customers of special sales.
• Process payments via cash, checks, sales discounts, and credit cards.
• Maintain a clean and orderly store environment.
• Contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere and comply with safety procedures and policies.
• Identify, report, and assist in resolving store issues to management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• 1-3 years of retail experience preferred.
• Previous customer-service and cash register/reconciliation experience preferred.
• Emotionally mature with the ability to handle stress professionally and in public.
• Ability to work in an unsupervised atmosphere and manage flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Customer-service oriented with excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage time efficiently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, visually check color-coded racks and sizing, and perform bending and lifting.

Pay

$16.30 per hour.
