Sales Associate I & II- Goldbelt Tram

About the role

We are looking for positive, friendly, and enthusiastic ambassadors to represent Alaska, our local culture, and the Goldbelt Tram. As the only aerial tramway in Southeast Alaska, we offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn about Alaska Native culture. This role is based in beautiful Juneau, Alaska; applicants must either live in Juneau or be open to relocating at their own expense.

Part-time and full-time schedules are available.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome and engage customers as they enter the store, maintaining a friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous demeanor.
• Stay knowledgeable about our range of products and actively promote merchandise to enrich the shopping experience.
• Process orders promptly using a POS (point of sale) system and promote special sales, offers, and the store loyalty program.
• Explain the characteristics and origin of art/merchandise to customers.
• Assist with inventory tasks such as stocking, displaying, pricing, and maintaining a clean, fully stocked, and neat retail shop.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including operating the cash register, recording transactions, and managing the gift shop bank/till.
• Assist with training staff when appropriate.
• Help haul supplies to and from retail locations.

Requirements

• Passion for delivering outstanding customer experience.
• Ability to handle stress under pressure and meet time and attendance requirements.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Strong cash handling skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to build positive and cooperative work relationships with employees and the public.
• Willingness to learn and share information about local history, culture, geography, and other visitor interests.
• Some knowledge of basic cleaning principles, equipment, and products.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the Goldbelt Tram Gift Shop.

Pay

Sales Associate I Starting Rate: $15.00 (DOE)
Sales Associate II Starting Rate: $18.00 (DOE)

Seasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan, designed to motivate and compensate eligible seasonal employees during their assignment. Goldbelt, Inc. may also grant discretionary performance bonuses outside this program at the company’s sole discretion. The goal is to enhance employee retention and long-term value for Goldbelt Inc.
