Sales Associate I
About the role
The Sales Associate is solution-oriented, customer-centric and will interact on a regular basis with key internal stakeholders (sales team/sales management, commercial, supply chain, accounts payable/receivable, etc.) to deliver best in class customer service. The Sales Associate will support the order-to-cash process while improving processes internally and externally. An immediate focus will be executing speedy order processing and email confirmation with lead times to both new and existing customers.
Responsibilities
- Performs accurate and timely entry of customer selection into order processing system (Salesforce).
- Calculate and enter initial pricing at the time of order creation.
- Identify and escalate gaps in company and customer ordering information with appropriate level of urgency.
- Research shortages and provide accurate details of all shortage issues.
- Monitor orders using system reports and communicate progress to leadership.
- Proactively communicate to resolve discrepancies in up-front data preventing accurate or timely order entry.
- Monitor and track customer orders to meet material lead times and ensure on-time delivery.
- Interact with internal and external customers daily through clear and concise written and oral communication.
- Resolve sales order issues, such as tax validations, and delivery issues such as tracking.
- Communicate updates to clients regarding order status.
- Act as a customer liaison with the appropriate internal departments.
- Institutes appropriate service level response and prioritization based upon strategic customer value by balancing customer expectations within Opentrons policies and procedures.
- Complete internal education classes on and get certified on Opentrons product, applications, sales process, and sales presentations.
- Responsible for setting up and maintaining web accounts in Customer eCommerce Portal; also responsible for updating and maintaining contact information in NetSuite, relating to customer and customer/material content.
- Maintains up-to-date CRM hygiene.
- Monitors the referral pipeline and maintains up-to-date CRM hygiene.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree required; preferred focus areas: Business, Marketing, or STEM/Lab Sciences.
Experience: Previous role or internship involving sales, marketing, customer relations or administrative duties; Prior order entry or similar experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively; Errs on the side of activity; Strong problem solving skills; Excellent communication skills; Detail Oriented; Forward Thinker - ability to take steps to resolve current issues as they arise as well as prevent them from reoccurring.

Benefits
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $24.00 and $27.00 per hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience. We typically target mid-range for well-qualified candidates. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity and full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
Pay
Compensation Range: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $24.00 and $27.00 per hour.
