Responsibilities

• Provides professional and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside of the store, and on the phone.
• Assures merchandise is placed on the sales floor in a timely manner.
• Able to ensure items are rung accurately on the register.
• Demonstrates accurate cash handling skill to include but not limited to making change, operating and maintaining the cash register, check and charge card machine, and use of a calculator.
• Maintains knowledge of merchandise and answers customer’s questions courteously and promptly.
• Keeps floor merchandise neat and orderly (racks, shelves, bins, and hangers) and assists customers with purchase selections.
• Maintains clean professional appearance.
• Maintains an orderly and clean register area.
• Maintains familiarity with store security procedures and exercises security practices when necessary.
• Performs general housekeeping responsibilities to include store upkeep duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping shelves, and dusting (including restrooms and dressing rooms).
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and associates.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all customers.
• Ability to settle customer complaints.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift).
• Ability to bend and lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.

Qualifications

• Preferred: A minimum of six months of previous work experience.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Previous experience working in a retail environment.
• Preferred: Excellent customer service related skills.
• Preferred: Working knowledge of a cash register.
• Preferred: Multilingual with complete fluency in English.
