About the role
The Full-Time Associate is responsible for assisting the store management team with daily store operational functions, including providing excellent customer service, driving sales, merchandising, and handling other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Responsibilities
- Build customer relationships by demonstrating strong customer service, assisting all customers professionally and courteously.
- Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance to help customers select appropriate products.
- Display basic fashion and trend knowledge to satisfy customer needs while maintaining DTLR standards.
- Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
- Maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
- Comply with and enforce all company policies.
- Embrace service training and product programs.
- Monitor and identify issues related to loss or inconsistencies in the store to ensure shrink goals are met.
- Control all aspects of operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
- Support the training of employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
- Actively minimize shrinkage of inventory by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft.
- Follow loss prevention policies and security procedures.
- Enforce proper point of sale procedures, balance money taken in, and investigate discrepancies with store management.
- Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule
A standard work week consists of a minimum of 35 hours up to a maximum of 40 hours.
Requirements
- Previous work experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent command of the English language to communicate effectively with management, customers, and employees.
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
- Basic fashion and style trend knowledge, with a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
- Proven track record in building and working as part of a team, handling responsibility, and understanding the needs of street lifestyle customers.
- Willingness to work in multiple stores within the assigned district.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work extended hours during critical project phases.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
- Must have reliable transportation.
