About the role

As a Sales Associate, you will be the face of our company, representing our brand and values while delivering exceptional service. You’ll assist customers, educate them about our products and services, and contribute to our reputation as a customer-focused organization. Responsibilities

• Customer Service:
  • Proactively engage and connect with customers.
  • Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about promotions, events, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
  • Provide premier customer service.
  • Build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships; take accountability for your actions and outcomes.
• Organization:
  • Maintain store appearance.
• Sales:
  • Cross-sell products and know the store layout.
  • Make personalized suggestions based on customer needs, trends, and promotions.
  • Upsell products.
  • Learn product features, stay updated on trends, and use company tools to provide confident product knowledge.
  • Operate a Point-of-Sale system, process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, and credit/debit cards.
  • Handle cash accurately, including counting money and providing correct change.
  • Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation tasks.
• Inventory:
  • Manage merchandise, complete inventory processes, and ensure items are properly checked in and ticketed.
  • Participate in periodic inventories as needed.
• Dependability:
  • Adhere to assigned work schedules and follow through on work assignments accurately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Product Knowledge: Basic understanding of products and merchandise.
• Experience: Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Communication Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents (e.g., safety rules, procedure manuals).
  • Effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
  • Professional telephone etiquette.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to multitask while remaining attentive to customers.
  • Flexibility to adapt to business needs.
  • Work as part of a team and take initiative with minimal supervision.
• Physical Demands:
  • Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, and grabbing.
  • Standing for at least two consecutive hours.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
  • Vision abilities: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs. (up to 50 lbs. in some departments).
• Work Environment: Primarily indoors, but may include outdoor assignments depending on location.
• Other Skills: Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• No prior experience required.

Schedule

• Part-time (20–34.5 hours per week).
• Available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
