As a Sales Associate, you will be the face of our company, contributing to our reputation for valuing customers and their opinions. You will assist customers, help them recognize the need for our products and services, and articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner.
Responsibilities
- Customer Service:
- Proactively engage and connect with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service.
- Build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships; take accountability for your actions and outcomes.
- Organization:
- Maintain store appearance.
- Sales:
- Cross-sell products and know the store layout.
- Make suggestions based on customer needs, trends, and promotions.
- Upsell products.
- Learn product features and stay updated on trends using company tools and technology.
- Operate a Point-of-Sale system, process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, and credit/debit cards.
- Handle cash, including counting money and providing accurate change.
- Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
- Inventory:
- Manage merchandise, complete inventory processes, and ensure accurate ticketing.
- Participate in periodic inventories.
- Dependability:
- Adhere to assigned work schedule and follow through on work assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Product Knowledge: Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
- Experience: Retail experience preferred but not required.
- Communication Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents (e.g., safety rules, procedure manuals).
- Effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
- Proper telephone etiquette.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to multi-task while remaining attentive to customers.
- Flexibility to adapt to business needs.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently.
- Physical Demands:
- Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, and grabbing.
- Standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Vision abilities: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Lifting at least 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
- Work Environment: Typically indoors, but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
- Other Skills: Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Schedule
Full-Time (35+ hours). Available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
