About the Role
The Color Curl Concierge serves as the company’s ambassador to the beauty industry, showcasing expertise in color, curl, and texture while driving talent development, technical skills, business growth, and sales. This role focuses on expanding and maintaining a customer base through market analysis, product education, and personalized consulting services for professional salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed cosmetologists.
Responsibilities
- Grow Yourself (15%):
- Develop industry-leading expertise in talent, technical, and selling skills.
- Pursue continuous learning and personal development to generate new customer relationships.
- Schedule and execute business development days to enhance product knowledge and professional relationships.
- Stay agile to market changes and build industry intuition to respond to competitive dynamics.
- Serve as the category expert in Color, Curl, and Texture, sharing insights with the team and customers.
- Maintain an organized workflow to efficiently service customers.
- Grow Team and Culture (15%):
- Communicate sales progress, follow-up plans, and assistance needs across teams and leadership.
- Attend all required meetings, functions, and events while maintaining regular contact as directed.
- Conduct in-store, salon, and virtual education sessions.
- Assess customer needs and recommend products and services to align with their goals.
- Lead periodic meetings to foster strong employee relations and share relevant information.
- Build trust and confidence with customers to enhance selling and service delivery.
- Grow the Business (70%):
- Develop and review market analysis, prospect funnel processes, and strategies to open new accounts.
- Meet or exceed established metrics, color growth goals, and other performance standards.
- Establish technical expertise in products and programs.
- Implement marketing, merchandising, and social media programs to support salon accounts.
- Leverage social media to drive business and promote customer/vendor events.
- Create and maintain customer profiles with data to tailor marketing, sales, and merchandising strategies.
- Resolve customer service issues, questions, or disputes in a timely and effective manner.
- Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding color and curl categories, collaborating with store managers.
- Ensure proper store opening/closing procedures and maintain high standards for merchandising, signage, and displays.
- Coordinate special promotion activities for color and curl categories.
- Manage inventory accuracy, cycle counts, shelf stocking, and product turnover.
- Communicate with corporate partners on emerging trends, styles, and products.
- Use purposeful cold-calling techniques to generate new customers.
- Comply with procedures for processing returns and approved conversions.
- Complete assigned projects and tasks in a timely manner.
- Adhere to company safety procedures and all applicable city, state, and federal laws.
Requirements
- One year of retail or full-service sales experience.
- Licensed cosmetologist highly preferred.
- Reliable transportation to service designated stores and markets.
- Working knowledge of retail sales, inventory control systems, and visual merchandising (strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Oracle, and POS applications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of computers, mobile devices, and social media platforms.
- Ability to travel to shows and sales meetings a minimum of 3 times per year.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and maintain safety standards.
- Commitment to scheduled hours with flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
- May be required to work in other stores or in the field occasionally.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Work environment includes offices, meeting/training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles.
- Requires adherence to standard safety precautions (e.g., safe equipment use, fire regulations, traffic signals).
- Frequent driving, sitting, standing, and walking.
- Physical tasks include bending/twisting the neck, bending the waist, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, and reaching with hands/arms.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
