SALES ASSOCIATE- CHILDREN'S (PART TIME)
Job Summary
As a sales associate, you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will assist customers, help them recognize the need for our products and services, and learn about what we sell to articulate our purpose professionally.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Proactively engage and make a connection with customers. Asking questions and listening to customer needs.
- Directing customers to merchandise by informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.
- Providing premier customer service, cooperating, building positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships, taking accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
- Maintaining store appearance.
- Selling cross-sell products and knowing the layout of the store. Making suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on customer individual needs. Upselling products.
- Leveraging product knowledge, staying updated with the latest trends, using company tools and technology to confidently provide product knowledge, specs, and using a Point-of-Sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and cash handling including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
- Completing various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
- Managing inventory by completing all inventory processes and ensuring merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed. Participating in periodic inventories.
- Adhering to assigned work schedule. Accurately and completely following through on work assignments.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
- Experience in retail, though not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
- Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Reasoning Abilities
- Ability to multi-task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independently of direct supervision.
Physical Demands
- Constantly moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
- Work typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending upon location.
Work Environment
- Work involves constant movement, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
- May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Work Hours
Available to work a variety of hours which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. No experience required. High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
