About the Role
Visual Comfort & Co. is seeking driven professionals to join our team as we continue our global expansion. This position combines showroom sales with technical project design responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to collaborate with trade and consumer clients to provide comprehensive lighting and shading solutions.
Responsibilities
- Achieve and surpass individual and showroom sales objectives
- Manage all phases of the sales process, from opportunity to invoice, ensuring exceptional customer service
- Effectively manage the sales pipeline using order entry software and communication methods
- Provide expert design consultation and product recommendations to trade and retail clients
- Present compelling sales demonstrations featuring lighting, controls, and shading solutions
- Develop and sustain relationships with architects, builders, interior designers, and homeowners
- Collaborate with the Visual Comfort & Co Design Studio to prepare comprehensive documentation for design and engineering teams
- Respond to client inquiries and ensure understanding of proposed lighting and shading solutions
- Maintain showroom brand standards, ensuring a clean, well-presented, and organized environment
- Manage showroom opening and closing procedures, including participation in a rotating Saturday schedule
Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail or showroom sales experience, ideally in luxury home furnishings, lighting, or building materials
- Prior experience within the design or building products industry, including interior design, custom home construction, luxury furnishings, or lighting
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; High School diploma required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; D365 knowledge preferred
- Experience with CRM/ERP systems for client management and project tracking
- Strong knowledge of product design, including interpreting floor plans and lighting layouts
- Technical understanding of lighting specs (color temperature, CRI, lumens, dimming) and control systems (e.g., Lutron, Control4)
Skills
- Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and professionalism in client interactions
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to build relationships with architects, builders, and designers
- Proficiency in preparing proposals, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Commitment to staying up-to-date on lighting technologies and participating in ongoing training

Pay
Compensation range: $70,000 - $75,000 plus monthly bonus opportunity. Compensation is based on individual factors, including skill set, relevant experience, and work location.
