About the Role
As a Sales Associate at The Chefs' Warehouse, you will act as the face of our company by delivering outstanding customer service and building strong relationships. You will sell our fine products to restaurants, caterers, hotels, and retail establishments while growing revenue and expanding your customer portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Generate sales through the development of new business opportunities and by expanding relationships with existing accounts
- Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads from networking, industry ads, trade shows, and other sources
- Travel throughout your assigned territory to call on existing and prospective customers
- Present products using samples or catalogs, highlighting key features and benefits
- Quote prices and credit terms, and prepare contracts for orders obtained
- Provide estimated delivery dates based on production and delivery schedules
- Collect payments from customers in a timely manner
- Maintain detailed records of business transactions, update expense reports, and manage account receivables
- Collaborate with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date
- Track stock levels to align product availability with customer demand
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with purchasing contracts built on trust
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in restaurant sales, food sales, professional catering sales, and/or working as a Chef (highly desired)
- High energy, enthusiastic, and motivated to take responsibility for successful outcomes
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives
- Self-starter eager to learn new skills quickly
- Comfortable gathering facts and figures to monitor progress
- College degree desired but not required
- Must live within a commutable distance to the assigned geographic sales area
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Suite
