Sales Associate

About the role

Lead other team members by example in accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company service standards. Meet sales and work goals set by store management while following company policies and procedures. Work collaboratively to present the store, merchandise, and team in the best possible light to customers.

Responsibilities

• Create an excellent shopping experience through awareness and company service standards, maintaining a positive attitude and willingness to serve.
• Promote company rewards programs and other business initiatives, and maintain awareness of current sales promotions.
• Maintain merchandise presentation, ensuring stock is well-arranged and properly merchandised.
• Keep all store areas clean and organized, including sales floors, stockrooms, and workspaces.
• Develop and maintain product knowledge and fitting skills.
• Stay aware of loss prevention concerns involving customers and staff.
• Participate in physical inventories, assist with shipping and receiving merchandise, and place merchandise on the sales floor as needed.
• Process all sales and POS terminal transactions in accordance with policy and procedure, including checking shoes for mates and maintaining strict control of all monies and sales documentation.

Requirements

• Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and employees at all levels.
• Basic communication (verbal and non-verbal), organization, and math skills.
• Experience in retail sales, preferably in specialty retail or footwear.
• Basic knowledge of retail policies and procedures.
• Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of store presentation standards.
