Sales Associate

About the role

Lead other team members by example in accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company service standards. Work toward common goals of presenting the store, merchandise, and staff to customers in the best possible light. Control cash and maintain accuracy of sales transactions through the POS terminal in accordance with policy and procedure.

Responsibilities

• Create an excellent shopping experience for customers through awareness and company service standards.
• Maintain a positive attitude, willingness to serve, and stay well-informed.
• Promote company rewards programs and other business initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of all current sales promotions.
• Ensure merchandise is well-arranged, properly merchandised, and stock is maintained.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all store areas.
• Develop and maintain product knowledge and fitting skills.
• Stay aware of Loss Prevention concerns involving customers and staff.
• Participate in physical inventories, assist in shipping and receiving merchandise, and place merchandise on the sales floor as needed.
• Process all sales and POS terminal transactions in accordance with policy and procedure, including checking shoes for mates.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with external contacts (primarily customers) and all levels of employees.
• Basic communication (verbal and non-verbal), organization, and math skills.
• Experience in retail sales, preferably in specialty retail or footwear.
• Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of Store Presentation Standards.
