Sales Associate

About the role

Lead other team members by example in accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company service standards. Work toward presenting the store, merchandise, and staff to customers in the best possible light while meeting sales and work goals set by store management.

Responsibilities

• Create an excellent shopping experience through awareness and company service standards, maintaining a positive attitude and staying well-informed.
• Promote company rewards programs and other business initiatives, and maintain awareness of current sales promotions.
• Maintain merchandise presentation, ensuring stock is well-arranged and properly merchandised.
• Keep all store areas clean and organized, including the sales floor, stock rooms, and workspaces.
• Develop and maintain product knowledge and fitting skills.
• Monitor and address Loss Prevention concerns involving customers and staff.
• Participate in physical inventories, assist with shipping and receiving merchandise, and place merchandise on the sales floor as needed.
• Process all sales and POS terminal transactions in accordance with policy and procedure, including checking shoes for mates and maintaining strict control of monies and sales documentation.

Requirements

• Interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers and employees at all levels.
• Basic communication (verbal and non-verbal), organization, and math skills.
• Experience in retail sales, preferably in specialty retail or footwear.
• Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of Store Presentation Standards.
