Sales Associate
About the role
Lead other team members by example in accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company service standards. Meet sales and work goals set by store management while following company policies and procedures. Control cash, maintain transaction accuracy, and process all sales through the POS terminal in accordance with policy.
Responsibilities
- Create an excellent shopping experience for customers through awareness and company service standards.
- Maintain a positive attitude, willingness to serve, and stay well-informed about products and promotions.
- Promote company rewards programs and other business initiatives.
- Maintain awareness of current sales promotions and ensure merchandise is well-presented and properly stocked.
- Keep all store areas clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Develop and maintain product knowledge and fitting skills.
- Monitor Loss Prevention concerns involving customers and staff.
- Participate in physical inventories, shipping/receiving, and merchandise placement on the sales floor.
- Process all sales and POS transactions in accordance with policy, including checking shoes for mates.
Requirements
- Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and employees at all levels.
- Basic communication (verbal and non-verbal), organization, and math skills.
- Experience in retail sales, preferably in specialty retail or footwear.
- Basic knowledge of retail policies and procedures.
- Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of store presentation standards.
