Sales Associate

About the Role

Lead other team members by example in accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company service standards. Work toward common goals of presenting the store, merchandise, and staff to customers in the best possible light. Control cash and maintain accuracy of sales transactions while processing all sales and POS terminal transactions according to policy.

Responsibilities

• Create an excellent shopping experience for customers through awareness and company service standards.
• Maintain a positive attitude, willingness to serve, and stay well-informed about products and promotions.
• Promote company rewards programs and other business initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of all current sales promotions and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure stock is well-arranged, properly merchandised, and the store remains clean and organized.
• Develop and maintain product knowledge and fitting skills.
• Stay aware of Loss Prevention concerns involving customers and staff.
• Participate in physical inventories, shipping and receiving merchandise, and merchandise placement on the sales floor.
• Process all sales and POS terminal transactions according to policy, including checking shoes for mates.

Requirements

• Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and employees at all levels.
• Basic communication (verbal and non-verbal), organization, and math skills.
• Experience in retail sales, preferably in specialty retail or footwear.
• Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures.
• Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of Store Presentation Standards.
