About the role
We are looking for part-time sales associates who are enthusiastic, energetic, friendly, and hard-working. The Sales Associate is responsible for providing exemplary selling and customer service designed to improve the productivity and profitability of the store. The role focuses on sales, service, and relationship-building at all times, including inventory management, product merchandising, and assisting with stockroom duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a warm, inviting, and easy-to-navigate shopping environment.
- Build and share expertise on products, promotions, services, and brand rewards programs, tailoring recommendations to diverse customer needs.
- Assist customers in finding the perfect card and gift solutions for their needs.
- Share stories and reinforce the brand’s mission of kindness and connection.
- Handle store operations, including product replenishment, merchandising, ringing sales, processing shipments, managing inventory, fulfilling online orders, and curbside deliveries.
- Deliver an exceptional shopping experience that inspires and affirms customers, encouraging repeat visits.
- Work as a team to meet store sales goals, ensuring customers leave with everything they need—and a few extras.
- Uphold all company policies and practices.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including maintaining the backroom, front of store, and restrooms.
- Complete other duties or special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- If under 18, must meet work permit requirements where applicable.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- One or more years of experience in retail, sales, or customer service (preferred).
Skills
- Strong customer-focused engagement and consultative selling skills.
- Effective communication with customers and employees.
- Sense of urgency, flexibility, and adaptability to change.
- Ability to receive and act on feedback.
- Proficiency with computers and technology.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Continuous standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds.
- Frequent bending, climbing (ladders/step ladders), kneeling, squatting, lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds, and overhead reaching.
- Occasional balancing on uneven surfaces and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Rare driving or travel, lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds, or sitting for extended periods.
- Continuous communication (speaking, hearing, sight) with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
- Exposure to dust, cleaning agents, truck exhaust, inadequate lighting, noise, scents (e.g., candles, lotions), outdoor work, and heights in the stockroom or sales floor.
Schedule
This is a regular, part-time, hourly position averaging 6–20 hours per week, not to exceed 28 hours per week on average.
