Sales Associate

Position Overview

The Sales Associate is responsible for sales generation and delivering a positive customer experience. The Sales Associate will also handle a variety of operational duties as assigned by the store management team (e.g., housekeeping duties, visual presentation standards, etc.). Reports To: Store Management

About the Role

This position requires a dynamic individual who can greet customers with a smile, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a clean and organized store environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers immediately upon entering the store with a smile and sincere non-business-like greeting.
• Create a positive first impression for the customer through an energetic attitude and adherence to dress code.
• Maintain a sparkling clean and organized environment by adhering to store standards and cleanliness.
• Provide customers with current relevant information about the product.
• Provide quality service in the fitting rooms, follow up with customers in a timely manner, maintain cash wrap cleanliness, and attempt to add on to the sale.
• Sincerely thank all customers for shopping at GUESS as they exit the store.
• Cooperate and depend on management to complete all duties as assigned.
• Be punctual and adhere to the designated work schedule.
• Work well with peers and management to accomplish duties.
• Follow GUESS Policies and Procedures 100%.
• Perform housekeeping duties as required.
• Meet or exceed the Sales per Hour (SPH) result as assigned by management.
• Participate in all store meetings and other related functions.
• Represent a positive attitude toward the merchandise and the company.
• Participate in all inventories.
• Assume and complete other duties as assigned by store management.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Previous retail experience preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting in excess of 30 pounds and stand for a minimum of eight hours during scheduled shifts.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. A valid California driver's license is required.

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and attention to detail are essential.
