Goodwill Industries of Akron is looking to hire an entry-level Sales Associate / Cashier. Responsibilities

• Serve as the face of the agency by providing exceptional customer service to shoppers and donors.
• Greet every person who approaches with a warm smile, regardless of workload.
• Inform customers about the Elizabeth Clark Fund and encourage participation or sign-ups for Goodwill Club memberships.
• Operate the cash register and point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently, including processing purchases and handling cash transactions.
• Complete reports such as donation counts, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer balances with attention to detail.
• Answer phones with friendliness and professionalism, ensuring careful listening and customer service.
• Select and price donated goods and textiles while meeting Goodwill quality control standards.
• Maintain clean and organized store areas at all times.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a cash register, including basic math, computer, and typing skills.
• Ability to count back change accurately.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Friendly demeanor and excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Reliability and trustworthiness.
• Ability to work independently while fostering a strong team atmosphere and promoting the agency positively.

Schedule

This position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
