Sales Associate
About the role
Goodwill Industries of Akron is seeking an entry-level Sales Associate / Cashier. The ideal candidate should be goal-oriented, enjoy working with people, and be passionate about community service. Applicants should be friendly, possess excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, be reliable, and able to work independently while fostering a positive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Greet every customer with a warm smile, regardless of the level of busyness.
- Awareness and promotion of the Elizabeth Clark Fund.
- Assist with purchases, operate the cash register and POS system accurately and efficiently.
- Complete reports such as donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer balances.
- Answer the phone with friendliness and commitment to customer service.
- Select and price donated goods and textiles, ensuring Goodwill quality control standards are met.
- Keep all areas neat and clean.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate a cash register including basic math, computer, and typing skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to count back change.
- Customer service skills.
