Goodwill Industries of Akron was established in 1927 in a one-room salon at the corner of Howard and Furnace Streets as a branch of Goodwill Industries of Cleveland. Responsibilities
- Serve as the face of Goodwill, providing exceptional customer service to shoppers and donors
- Greet every person with a warm smile and ensure all customers are aware of the Elizabeth Clark Fund and Goodwill Club membership
- Assist with purchases, operating the cash register and point of sale system accurately and efficiently
- Complete reports such as donation counts, readings, daily business statements, deposits, and cash drawer balances
- Answer phone calls with friendliness and commitment to customer service
- Select and price donated goods and textiles while meeting Goodwill quality control standards
- Maintain neat and clean store areas
Qualifications
- Ability to operate a cash register including basic math, computer, and typing skills
- Ability to operate a cash register and count back change
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Customer service skills
- Friendly with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Able to work independently while fostering a strong team atmosphere
Schedule
This position requires a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
