The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish For Eyes as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. They create exceptional value in the lives of customers by delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted high-quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities
- Greets all customers with a warm welcome, exchanges names, and ensures they know what to expect.
- Shows urgency in providing service to customers and satisfying their needs.
- Custom fits glasses and precisely places prescriptions in lenses.
- Acts as a leader in optical acumen, providing a voice for associates.
- Takes and records measurements, adjusts or fits eyewear correctly, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer requirements.
- Attracts new customers.
- Explores the needs and priorities of customers by asking open-ended questions.
- Assists co-workers with difficult or complex areas of product needs and prescriptions.
- Utilizes store tools and adheres to Brand Store Commitments.
- Demonstrates superior product knowledge, accurately describing features and benefits of lenses and frames.
- Anticipates problems, explores underlying reasons, and strives to develop long-term solutions.
- Commits to delivery dates and times, seeks feedback, and asks for referrals.
- Presents, celebrates, and educates at pick-up.
- Maintains store appearance, keeping it clean, attractive, and organized.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures, including discounting, promotions, and inventory management.
- Sells on your feet 80%-100% of the time.
- Performs additional duties as needed, such as customer calls and dispensing eyewear.
- Maintains proper dress code, including name tag and associate tablet.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- State Licensure
- Optical dispensing experience
- Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder
- Knowledge of current store merchandise
- Basic math skills
- Awareness of current fashion trends
- Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators
