About the role

The Sales Associate at Allen Brothers plays a crucial role in the company's mission to provide the world's greatest ingredients to the world's best chefs. They are responsible for developing and growing sales, securing orders, and maintaining strong relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow new sales and increase sales with existing accounts
  • Compile lists of prospective customers based on various sources
  • Travel throughout assigned territory and call on regular and prospective customers to secure orders
  • Display or demonstrate product using samples or catalogs, emphasizing saleable features
  • Quote prices and credit terms, prepare sales contracts for orders obtained
  • Estimate delivery dates based on production and delivery schedules
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and update expense accounts
  • Work with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date
  • Enter new customer data and other sales data into the computer database
  • Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts

Requirements

  • One to two years of relevant experience in sales
  • Previous sales experience in restaurant, food sales, or professional catering, and/or working as a Chef preferred
  • High energy, positive, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Strong team player profile
  • Foster a positive and innovative atmosphere
  • Drive and motivate to take responsibility and ensure successful outcomes
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Gather facts and figures, monitor self and others, and achieve goals in a timely manner
  • Self-starter, able to ask questions and learn new skills quickly
  • Bring a sense of urgency and work under tight deadlines with short turnarounds in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • College degree desired but not required
  • Lives in the assigned geographic sales area
