Sales Assistant

About the role

This is an hourly inside sales assistant position where you will assist our sales team by helping to sell flooring to retail customers. The role involves interacting with customers and providing product choices and design advice tailored to their individual needs, with the goal of making their buying decision easier. This part-time position offers potential growth into full-time.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service
• Sell flooring and floor care products
• Greet customers on the sales floor and determine their wants and needs
• Assist customers with flooring choices (explain features/benefits) and provide design advice
• Work effectively with other store employees
• Use computer database to research merchandise availability and process orders
• Maintain showroom by keeping samples and displays neat, current, and clean

Requirements

• Willing to undergo product, technology, and sales training to become a certified flooring and design expert
• Personally well-organized
• Able to provide outstanding customer service
• Strong communication skills
• Passion for, or experience with, decorating or design
• Access to reliable transportation for work and occasional customer home visits
• Open and flexible work availability, including Saturdays (9a–3p)
• Comfort using technology (PC, tablet, cell phone) and willingness to learn operating systems
• Retail sales experience strongly preferred

Schedule

Part-time with required Saturday hours from 9a–3p. Opportunity to grow into full-time.
