Responsibilities
- Use consultative sales techniques for sales prospecting and building lasting business relationships.
- Propose job costs and provide timely estimates to both prospects and clients.
- Negotiate contracts and collaborate with office staff to schedule work.
- Create work orders and instruct crews on key job scope elements to ensure client expectations are met.
- Set up crews, communicate ongoing work, and ensure job completion to client satisfaction.
- Follow up with customers promptly after job completion to address any concerns and ensure satisfaction.
- Obtain referrals, network with peers, and actively seek new business opportunities.
- Demonstrate ethical behavior, integrity, and promote a positive company culture as a role model.
- Continuously engage in prospecting for new business opportunities.
- Accurately estimate time and costs for crews performing pruning, removal, cabling, stump grinding, and plant health tasks.
- Conduct site inspections to prepare proposals.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships with timely follow-ups.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance on customers' properties, following the Joshua Tree Experts Sales Standard.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Attend industry events and conferences to build relationships and promote the Joshua Tree Experts brand.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Joshua Tree Experts services and the competitive landscape.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- 4 - 5 years working knowledge of arboriculture.
- ISA Certified Arborist certification.
- Customer service, prospecting, and communication skills.
- Strong persuasion, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Flexibility to work varying hours to meet job demands.
- Valid driver's license.
Skills
- Knowledge of tree identification and plant health care, including insect and disease management.
- Effective pricing of tree care recommendations and other services.
- Proven sales track record with the ability to meet sales goals.
- Excellent customer service, telephone etiquette, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, identify problems, and collaborate on solutions.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills, and basic computer and math proficiency.
- Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Reliable, self-motivated, with a positive and upbeat attitude.
