About the role
The Sales and Service Expert (SSE) at 24 Hour Fitness is responsible for delivering a compelling sales and service experience to guests and members. This role focuses on building relationships, translating the value of fitness products and services, and driving member acquisition and retention.
Responsibilities
- Executes the CARE sales model with each guest, relating how 24 Hour Fitness's products/services meet their fitness needs.
- Tours potential members through the club, describing its facilities, equipment, services, and amenities.
- Enrolls guests using Company sales techniques and protocols, adhering to specific Membership Agreement Procedures (MAP).
- Effectively and professionally enrolls members and assists with member retention activities to enhance club profitability.
- Obtains leads externally and internally, generating new business through member promotions, referrals, and lead management systems.
- Manages and follows up on leads/new business opportunities, communicating and promoting local and global marketing campaigns.
- Partners with the Sales and Service Manager to provide a member-centric experience, ensuring members feel welcomed and supported.
- Maintains a clean, friendly, well-maintained club environment, helping new members feel comfortable.
- Eligible for variable compensation based on performance in 24 Hour Fitness's commission plans.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge and experience with sales practices and techniques.
- General understanding of the fitness industry.
- Ability to work with computers.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Independent, self-starter with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Membership System software preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED, with CPR and AED certification from an approved organization.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Prior experience in fitness or retail industry preferred.
- One to two years of experience in service sales preferred.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Communicates telephonically with members.
- Accesses and operates company computer systems including document preparation, data entry, and report reading.
- Works in a loud environment.
- May require minimum travel for training and lead generation.
