Sales and Management Intern
This position aims to fulfill our mission statement, "to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests." Interns perform various sales, merchandising, and operational tasks under store management guidance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet Guests with friendly, engaging service and assist with their needs.
- Answer questions about the store and merchandise, recommend products, and help locate items.
- Anticipate and fulfill Guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
- Share product knowledge and sales education, and ensure compliance with sales and exchange policies.
- Achieve sales goals and provide exceptional service across multiple areas of the store.
- Place special orders, fill requests from other stores, and develop a client-based business.
- Maintain and improve Guest relationships to foster a loyal customer base.
- Meet performance standards in Buckle’s business builders and guest loyalty programs.
- Recognize and recruit potential Teammates using various methods.
- Manage visual merchandising to maximize sales and merchandise turnover.
- Handle merchandise, prepare displays, and manage inventory.
- Operate POS systems, follow loss prevention guidelines, and report any issues.
- Communicate with Store Manager and Leadership Team regarding store operations and concerns.
- Complete required training and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Contribute to a positive team spirit and fulfill the mission statement through excellent customer service.
Internship Duties
- Complete Teammate Orientation, Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Develop an understanding of Buckle’s products, sales presentation, and merchandising process.
- Lead and motivate a team by setting goals, educating members, and tracking performance.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Contribute to the store’s success by fulfilling mission statement goals with high-quality customer service.
