About the role

Yancey Bros. Co., Georgia’s authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer since 1914, provides sales, parts, and service for heavy and compact construction equipment and on‑highway trucks. The company is seeking candidates for its Sales and Leadership Training (SaLT) Program – a dynamic, full‑time, 12‑week rotation‑based training offered twice a year with flexible start dates. The program prepares motivated individuals for future sales and leadership roles through hands‑on experience, job shadowing, on‑the‑job learning, rotational assignments, interactive classroom sessions, and leadership development activities. Trainees begin with a “home base assignment” to build specific job skills while immersing themselves in Yancey’s culture and core values, and upon successful completion transition full‑time into that assignment as SaLT Alumni.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands‑on experience across business divisions
• Participate in job shadowing and on‑the‑job learning
• Complete rotational assignments exposing you to multiple departments and functions
• Attend interactive classroom sessions focused on sales and leadership fundamentals
• Engage in leadership development activities that strengthen skills and broaden organizational understanding
• Begin with a home base assignment to build specific job skills and immerse in Yancey’s culture
• Connect with team members at all levels to gain insight into their roles and responsibilities
• Travel periodically to the Austell, GA location for SaLT Program meetings, trainings, and site visits (hotel accommodations provided as needed; mileage reimbursed)

Requirements

Prior experience working or volunteering in sales, retail, management, or customer service roles is desired. Good communication skills, a desire to learn, and a willingness to listen are essential for maintaining relationships with customers and coworkers. A sense of urgency and a commitment to superior customer service are required. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.

Qualifications

College degree or related equivalent experience. Long‑term interest in future sales and leadership opportunities with Yancey Bros. Co. is preferred.
