Sales and Events Specialist
About the role
The Sales and Events Specialist manages lead catching and distribution for the hotel, works side-by-side with Conference Services Manager, manages group room blocks, local partnerships, and facilitates on-property activations. They also manage pre-arrival reservations and arrangements for luxury consortia guests, execute bookings for live music, yoga, and other value-added guest engagement opportunities, and create weekly events calendars.
Responsibilities
- Manages lead catching and distribution for the hotel, fielding both e-channel and phone leads, and assigning as needed
- Works side-by-side with Conference Services Manager, managing group room blocks in both CI/TY and the hotel’s property management system (i.e., rooming lists, updates, and special requests)
- Manages local partnerships and facilitates on-property activations in the hotel's common spaces as a way of providing fun, value-added experiences for our guests and the local community
- Manages pre-arrival reservations and arrangements (i.e., amenities and special requests) for luxury consortia guests (i.e., Fine Hotels and Resorts, Chase The Edit, and Luminous stays)
- Executes bookings for live music, yoga, and other value-added guest engagement opportunities throughout the year
- Creates weekly events calendars, placed in our common spaces and guestrooms, which help guests discover the many happenings in Jackson Hole throughout their stay at The Cloudveil
- Serves as the primary contact for designated travel agencies, negotiates accommodations, and maintains long-term business relationships.
- Attends and be a representative for both Hotels at various tradeshows with the Marriott Global Sales Team and the Convention Bureau
- Participates in and creates FAM opportunities and site visits that will benefit the Hotel
- Review RFPs and work with revenue tools and the Revenue team to evaluate the opportunity
- Create proposals and contracts
- Exercises discretion in negotiating group agreements, concessions, and events packages within established guidelines
- Prepare for site visits by coordinating with the onsite team to inspect rooms, provide take-away gifts, and send site alerts to all departments
- Conduct tours of the property with meeting planners and potential clients
- Communicate clearly to the onsite team during the turnover process, providing any special hotel arrangements, including special billing requirements and guest room accommodations per client’s requests
- Prospect from potential business for the hotel through various reports and meeting attendee lists
- Assist with updating collateral, PowerPoint presentations and websites as needed.
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in hotel sales, preferably at an upscale, full-service hotel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively, handling multiple projects at a time and meeting deadlines
- Ability to effectively liaise between the hotel and client, communicating clearly both verbally and through email
- Excellent attention to detail
- Sales aptitude, building relationships to assist with selling, upselling, and re-booking the business
- Mastery of Microsoft Office
