We’re looking for a dynamic, results-driven Sales and Education Freelance Manager to support our field sales and education strategy across the U.S. market, with a focus on Ulta and Sephora. This hybrid role blends leadership, strategy, and in-field execution—ideal for a high-performing field leader with experience managing a freelance team.

About the role

You’ll oversee the performance of ~160 retail locations across the U.S. while supporting 30+ freelancers in uncovered metro markets with the potential growth of managing full-time employees. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone passionate about mentorship, retail relationships, and driving excellence in-store. Travel up to 70% of the time is expected, including overnights and weekends. Candidate must reside in Central/South Atlantic metro area within 30 minutes from closest airport.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the National Director to drive sales, education, and brand initiatives across the U.S.
  • Develop and implement B&M sales strategy to achieve annual metrics.
  • Assist with administrative projects as needed.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage and coach 30+ freelancers, fostering growth and accountability.
  • Conduct regular store visits independently and with freelancers to support field execution, visual merchandising, and retail relationships.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and lead in-market execution for store events, market weeks, and new door openings.
  • Actively connect with district and regional management teams for key retailers to ensure Living Proof is maximizing all market-level opportunities.
  • Oversee the travel and operational budgets for territory; forecast and manage spending in alignment with the budget.
  • Directly manage and support approx. 160 Ulta and Sephora locations with regularly scheduled visits.
  • Execute a monthly event strategy including corporate and store generated activations.
  • Analyze sales and productivity data to identify trends and opportunities; collaborate with freelance and ND to activate growth-driving strategies.
  • Conduct monthly performance check-ins, providing coaching and strategic insights to optimize performance.
  • Deliver advanced training in-store or via cluster events to ensure brand consistency and elevate cast expertise and selling skills.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with each call door store manager, Sales & Events manager, and District Manager, with exposure to Regional Manager when applicable.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador in-store, modeling best-in-class service, client engagement, and team support.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage freelance team members to ensure optimal coverage and ROI.
  • Conduct monthly individual/group check-ins to develop and coach freelance team.
  • Schedule bookings in All Work and provide consistent feedback and coaching to elevate performance.
  • Create call cycles to support sales objectives and approve time sheets.
  • Provide email and virtual support to out-of-scope stores within your region.
  • Build and maintain digital relationships with remote store teams and leadership to ensure visibility and engagement.
  • Plan quarterly in-person visits to remote doors (with manager approval) to support stores, recruit freelance, and coach/train freelance team.
  • Track and report performance, KPIs, and recommend support strategies for remote locations.
  • Act as a liaison between the National Director and freelance, communicating priorities, reporting feedback, and ensuring alignment on brand goals.
  • Partner with HQ teams (Sales, Education, Visual Merchandising, etc.) on activations, training content feedback, and door-specific support.
  • Partner with Education and Visual Merchandising teams to pack and ship collateral/event materials to entire sales field organization on a monthly basis.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of freelancers and Beauty Advisors, as needed.
  • Represent the brand in national trainings, events, or field calls as designated.
  • Mentor/coach direct reports with an emphasis on sales performance (SPH), store feedback, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrate situational leadership and contribute to a culture of empowerment and collaboration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in field sales and education (Sephora/Ulta experience required).
  • Deep knowledge of Sephora and/or Ulta operations, culture, and expectations.
  • Experience using All Work, or similar, platform for scheduling.
  • Relationships with Sephora/Ulta District & Regional Managers preferred.
  • Proven multi-door sales leadership with a track record of exceeding goals.
  • Experience coaching or managing direct reports preferred.
  • Strong business acumen, retail math skills, and data analysis capabilities.
  • Skilled in building retailer relationships and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Able to travel up to 70% of the time; flexible hours including weekends and some evenings.
  • Must be available Saturdays.
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to stand up to 8 hours and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Pay

Annual Base Compensation range: $90,000 - $95,000.
