We also help brands and licensors sell online through company-branded and marketplace websites.

About the Role

UGP is seeking an Assistant Sales Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Availability outside regular business hours may be required to ensure excellent customer support and prompt deal closure. This in-person position reports to the Sales Manager and follows a fixed work schedule, with the responsibility to coordinate urgent action items as they arise, even during non-work hours. Potential career advancement paths include Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, and National Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Promote UGP’s core values: show up, work hard, be respectful and honest, strive for excellence, do what you say, and promote DEI.
  • Convert quotes to sales; Marketing drives quotes, while the Assistant Sales Manager’s role is to interact with quotes and convert them to orders.
  • Communicate sales, store, and personnel information to the Sales Manager in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to the Digital Code of Conduct.
  • Provide constructive feedback to affect change and be part of the process.
  • Actively participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with the Sales Manager.
  • Assist in coverage when other UGP team members are unavailable, including email, phone, and potential travel to another UGP location.
  • Ensure customers have the best experience and outcome possible.
  • Engage with and be part of the local community by attending local events such as Downtown Association meetings, networking groups, and Chamber of Commerce meetings.
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in person to determine their needs, focusing on customer preferences.
  • Relay ideas for sales and marketing tools to the Sales Manager.
  • Work with the Sales Manager to engage with customers and drive sales at events and local opportunities.
  • Promote the specific store location and UGP overall through social media.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming storefront, ensuring custom orders and retail products are easy to find and clearly marked.

How Success is Measured

  • Metrics on the Sales L10 Scorecard vs. goal as set by the Sales Team.
  • Increase year-over-year custom sales each year.
  • Increase year-over-year retail sales each year.
  • Customer feedback rating of at least 90%.

Qualifications

  • Degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Previous sales experience.
  • Strong typing skills with speed and accuracy.
  • Highly advanced organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Gmail, cloud computing sites, and social media.
  • Prior management experience is preferred.
