Our client is an international transportation and logistics company headquartered in the U.S., dedicated to providing effective transportation, logistics, warehousing, and e-commerce solutions.
General Purpose of the Position
The client is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Sales Associate to join a growing team. This role is responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and promoting the company's logistics solutions, including import and export freight, 3PL services, warehousing, and distribution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound sales outreach through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, and other prospecting methods to generate new business.
- Manage and follow up on leads provided by the company while also generating new prospects independently.
- Respond to inbound inquiries and convert leads into new customers.
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within the logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain sectors.
- Promote company services including import and export freight, 3PL services, warehousing, and distribution solutions.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
- Meet with customers and prospects to present services, strengthen partnerships, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Prepare sales proposals, pricing quotes, and service presentations tailored to client needs.
- Cook with operations, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure service expectations are met.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on lead generation initiatives, campaigns, and promotional activities to support business development efforts.
- Provide feedback to marketing on market trends, customer needs, and campaign effectiveness to help refine messaging and targeting.
- Follow up on marketing-generated leads and assist in converting them into qualified sales opportunities.
- Regularly update the CRM with call notes, meeting summaries, deal stages, and follow-up tasks to ensure accurate reporting and pipeline visibility.
- Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and performance goals.
- Participate in occasional travel for client meetings, industry events, and business development opportunities.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Proven experience in sales within logistics, freight forwarding, 3PL, warehousing, or distribution.
- Strong experience in cold calling and business development.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, persuasive, assertive, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage both inbound and outbound sales activities effectively.
- Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented with strong time management skills.
- Comfortable meeting clients in person and traveling occasionally when required.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong sales aptitude.
- Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining control and order.
- Results-oriented and motivated to deliver performance goals.
- Fully bilingual (English/Spanish).
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- CRM (Preferably Hubspot).
- Datamyne.
Education and Experience Required
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 4–6 years of 3PL sales experience, with at least 2–3 years in logistics, freight forwarding, warehousing, or distribution services preferred.
