About the role
The Sale Coordinator supports the Specialists in the successful delivery of auctions and the day-to-day running of the Bonhams Skinner European Furniture and Works of Art department. This department holds around 6 sales per year and deals with a wide variety of important items, including decorative objects like sculpture, clocks, gilt bronzes, ceramics, enamel, and furniture.
Responsibilities
- Manage clients and their property throughout the sale cycles, including receipting property into Auctioneer 3, generating and issuing consignment contracts, and requesting/uploading client details.
- Primary contact for a range of external stakeholders, escalating to Specialists when required.
- Coordinate the movement of property throughout the sale cycles, working with regional offices, Shipping, Operations & Photography to ensure efficient and compliant stock transfers.
- Support clients with after-sale inquiries, including resolving payments and arranging shipping quotes for both purchased and unsold lots.
- Assist with day-to-day auction activities, ensuring the department has everything it needs to run smoothly and effectively.
- Respond to client enquiries pre and post-sale, bid on behalf of clients, and assist with phone bidding during sale days.
Requirements
- Strong time management and organizational ability.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to manage workflow and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A flexible approach and willingness to support departments and teams outside of your core responsibilities.
- 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably from an auction background.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using Auctioneer 3, Bonhams' bespoke Auction Management System.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of auction procedures and practices.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Skills

Pay
$21.00 hourly.
Schedule
This is an in-person position and the expectation is to be in the office for all working hours.
