About the Role

HVP is looking to add another team member to the sale barn crew. This is a part-time position.

Schedule

Every Monday from roughly 8am until the sale concludes (average 14-16 hours on Mondays), and the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the week of the first Thursday each calendar month for the cow sale. Cow sale Thursdays average 16-18 hours.

Responsibilities

• Bringing cattle from their pens to the processing chute
• Loading cattle into the processing alley
• Returning cattle to pens
• Sorting cattle for processing and loading
• Developing a thorough knowledge of the pen layout and understanding cattle movement before and during the auction to avoid interfering with cattle movement in the barn

Requirements

• Positive attitude and ability to integrate and work well in a team
• Quiet/calm livestock handling
• Able to stand for long periods and withstand heat and cold
• Available for all regular and cow sale days
• Hands-on cattle experience

Pay

Hourly at $20.00/hr, with overtime commencing at the 8-hour mark for a given shift.
