About the role
The Safety & Training Lead plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performing warehouse environment. This position drives safety program execution, employee training, PIT certification, and KPI qualification across all departments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain all site-level safety programs in alignment with OSHA and corporate standards
- Conduct regular safety audits, facility walkthroughs, and risk assessments; document findings and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root-cause analysis, and support corrective and preventive action plans
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and targeted safety initiatives to reinforce safe work behaviors
- Maintain accurate training records, certification logs, qualification checklists, and compliance documentation
- Support driver training documentation and DOT/safety compliance audits
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on training progress, safety trends, and KPI qualification rates
- Partner with supervisors and managers to identify training gaps and improve overall site performance
Requirements
- Experience in warehouse operations, safety leadership, or employee training
- Strong knowledge of safety standards, operational workflows, and performance metrics
- Experience training and coaching employees in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Able to analyze KPIs, identify trends, and validate performance readiness
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Strong communication, leadership, and accountability skills
- Ability to enforce standards while maintaining a positive and supportive safety culture
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- PIT certification or willingness to become a certified trainer
- Experience in e-commerce or distribution center environments
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse systems such as RF-Smart or NetSuite
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional education in safety, logistics, or operations is a plus
- Must pass a pre-employment background check

Schedule
Typically Mon-Fri (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM or until completion of work), Five-day / eight-hour shifts, weekends off
Alternate Operations Schedules (as needed): Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM or until completion of work), Four-day / ten-hour shifts with three consecutive days off
