Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of Hays Electrical Services’ safety training programs across assigned construction project locations.
- Deliver safety training programs in both classroom and field environments for construction personnel working on active project sites.
- Provide training and competency evaluations for operators of construction equipment, including Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), forklifts, telehandlers, excavators, trackhoes, skid steers, and other equipment as required.
- Deliver OSHA Construction Outreach training programs, including OSHA 10-Hour and OSHA 30-Hour courses, in accordance with OSHA Outreach Training Program requirements.
- Provide training on OSHA construction safety topics and regulatory requirements, including fall protection, confined space entry, scaffolding, excavation and trenching, hazard communication, and other construction-related safety subjects.
- Deliver Competent Person training for high-risk construction activities, including fall protection, confined space, scaffolding, excavation, and other applicable safety disciplines.
- Evaluate employee and operator competency through written assessments, practical evaluations, field observations, and training participation.
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance documentation, certification records, and competency evaluation documentation.
- Cook up training schedules with project leadership, safety personnel, and field supervision.
- Aid safety leadership with developing, updating, and improving training materials, presentations, evaluation forms, and field training resources.
- Communicate training status, certification needs, competency concerns, and documentation gaps to applicable project and safety leadership.
Education & Qualifications
- OSHA 500 – Authorized Trainer for OSHA Construction Outreach Training.
- Demonstrated experience delivering safety training within construction environments.
- Experience training and evaluating operators of construction equipment, including MEWPs, forklifts, telehandlers, excavators, trackhoes, skid steers, and similar construction equipment.
- Experience delivering Competent Person training for high-risk construction activities, including fall protection, confined space, scaffolding, excavation, or related safety topics.
- Strong understanding of OSHA construction safety requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively instruct field personnel, supervisors, and project teams.
- Ability to conduct both classroom-based and field-based training in active construction environments.
- Ability to maintain accurate training records, certification documentation, and competency evaluation files.
- Ability to travel to multiple project locations as needed to support safety training and workforce development requirements.
