Graywolf is seeking Safety Technicians in Cameron, LA. Responsibilities
- Work as a leader in the safety department under the direction of the Project Safety Manager.
- Set exemplary standards of ethics and stewardship while supporting company goals and maintaining communication with the Safety Department.
- Identify workplace safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize them.
- Implement the Zero Injury System of Safety Excellence as directed.
- Learn basic concepts of subcontractor safety management and construction techniques such as rigging, excavation, welding, electrical circuits, mechanical piping, steel erection, and concrete foundations.
- Draft Lessons Learned and Safety Alert documents for organizational sharing.
- Conduct regular safety checks in the field and attend weekly general safety meetings and daily operations coordination meetings.
- Perform Safety Checks as directed by the Project Safety Manager.
- Learn about safety program documentation, OSHA recordkeeping, document posting, trenching and scaffold permitting, and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in site inspections and testing for required permits, including confined space, hot work, rigging, and trenching.
- Maintain jobsite first aid and emergency response supplies.
- Learn basic emergency preparedness requirements on large construction projects.
- Understand critical aspects of injury case management related to OSHA Recordkeeping.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial construction experience.
- Obtain OSHA 30 certification within 6 months of hire.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Active listening skills and enthusiasm to learn.
- Flexibility to work in both office and field environments.
- Willingness to grow as a public speaker.
- Basic knowledge of the 1904 OSHA Recordkeeping standard.
Physical/Site Requirements
- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
- Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
- Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and outdoor conditions.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Work at heights with fall protection, including from manlifts, baskets, and JLGs.
- PPE footwear, prescription safety glasses, or eye shields required.
