About the role

Create a safe working environment for team members by developing and implementing effective safety programs, conducting training focused on workplace safety, and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics
  • Promote a safe work culture within a high-paced manufacturing environment
  • Coordinate emergency response plans and safety drills
  • Maintain safety documentation and reports
  • Investigate incidents and accidents and assist in creating countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
  • Provide safety training and certifications to team members
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of safety experience in manufacturing or construction
  • Experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and abatement
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, safety management software, and tools
  • Must pass drug screens, background checks, and pre-employment tests as required by law

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field
  • Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), or CSHO (Certified Safety and Health Official)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • First Aid/CPR trainer certification is a plus

Job Conditions

  • Manufacturing/factory environment with exposure to noise and temperature changes

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Perform continuous, repetitious physical activities, including fine movements or large motions
  • Bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
  • Work in multiple climates, including hot/cold temperatures and dusty environments
