Safety Specialist (Swing and Weekend Shift)

This position is located in Hamilton, Washington State.
The Safety Specialist supports the organization's safety programs by ensuring compliance with regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. This role partners with supervisors and employees to identify hazards, reduce risk, investigate incidents, and promote Janicki’s safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine safety inspections and workplace audits.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead incident, injury, and near-miss investigations.
- Deliver employee safety training.
- Administer regulatory programs including Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Hazard Communication, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Powered Industrial Trucks, and Respiratory Protection.
- Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments.
- Monitor contractor safety performance.
- Track corrective actions until completion.
- Maintain OSHA logs and required safety records.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
- Promote employee engagement through safety committees, take 5’s and observations.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: HS diploma or GED required, 2+ years’ experience in workplace safety and compliance, valid driver’s license, excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, strong decision-making skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications: College degree or 2 years of relevant experience preferred, 5+ years in manufacturing, industrial, or construction safety, experience with ISO standards.
Skills
- Comprehensive PC skills, including MS Office (Excel/Access/Word/PowerPoint)
- Able to learn and use new systems
- Ability to work off/split shifts as required

Pay
Wage range for this role is between $20 - $40 per hour, plus a discretionary bonus. There is a $2.00 shift differential for swing shift and a $3.00 shift differential for weekend shift.
