About the role
Oversee daily occupational health and safety protocols on the production floor to ensure compliance, hazard elimination, injury prevention, and promote a safety-first culture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor programs for OSHA compliance.
- Conduct audits and inspections to identify hazards.
- Perform equipment inspections.
- Investigate accidents and coordinate workers' compensation activities.
- Organize emergency response drills.
- Maintain safety signage and alarm systems.
- Ensure environmental health standards are met.
- Collaborate with safety teams to ensure consistent training and recordkeeping across locations.
- Serve as a backup safety supervisor when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years safety coordination experience in manufacturing.
- OSHA 30-hour certification required.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, machine guarding, and equipment safety.
- Experience with Mechanical Power Presses, Punch Presses, Hydraulic Presses, Laser Manufacturing, and Welding.
Skills
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Willingness to travel between sites.
- Ability to respond proactively to safety inquiries and adapt to changing business needs.
