Safety Specialist - Manufacturing

About the role

Oversee daily occupational health and safety protocols on the production floor to ensure compliance, hazard elimination, injury prevention, and promote a safety-first culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor programs for OSHA compliance.
• Conduct audits and inspections to identify hazards.
• Perform equipment inspections.
• Investigate accidents and coordinate workers' compensation activities.
• Organize emergency response drills.
• Maintain safety signage and alarm systems.
• Ensure environmental health standards are met.
• Collaborate with safety teams to ensure consistent training and recordkeeping across locations.
• Serve as a backup safety supervisor when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years safety coordination experience in manufacturing.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, machine guarding, and equipment safety.
• Experience with Mechanical Power Presses, Punch Presses, Hydraulic Presses, Laser Manufacturing, and Welding.

Skills

• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Willingness to travel between sites.
• Ability to respond proactively to safety inquiries and adapt to changing business needs.
