Safety Specialist - Data Center

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans that align with OSHA, FDA, and pharmaceutical industry standards.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments to identify potential hazards related to chemical handling, cleanroom construction, and specialized equipment installation.
  • Monitor compliance with safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and applicable regulatory standards for all contractors and subcontractors.
  • Perform regular site inspections and safety audits of construction areas to identify unsafe practices, equipment misuse, or environmental risks, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, near-misses, and safety violations, leading root-cause analysis and recommending effective corrective and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and quality assurance teams to integrate safety considerations into planning, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture on site by communicating expectations clearly, reinforcing best practices, and supporting continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

Essential Skills

  • Proven knowledge of OSHA regulations and their application in construction environments.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments related to chemical handling, cleanroom construction, and specialized equipment installation.
  • Strong skills in monitoring safety compliance, including enforcement of PPE requirements and regulatory standards for contractors and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough site inspections and safety audits to identify unsafe conditions and practices.
  • Experience leading incident investigations and root-cause analyses and recommending corrective actions.
  • Able to plan, coordinate, and deliver safety training on hazardous materials, confined spaces, and emergency response.
  • Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills for safety audits, permits, incident reports, and compliance certifications.
  • Effective collaboration skills to work with engineers, project managers, and quality assurance teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
