Responsibilities

  • Safety Program Administration
    • Work with the EHS team to develop safety and health programs and training initiatives.
    • Aid in implementing effective metrics to track progress, identify areas of concern, and drive accountability.
    • Follow safety programs and ensure compliance across multiple states.
    • Deliver safety and health training to employees and field personnel.
    • Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
    • Develop Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and site-specific safety plans.
    • Coach field crews and supervisors on safe work practices.
    • Provide 24/7 on-call support for incidents as needed.
  • DOT Compliance (Primary Focus)
    • Maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files, including MVRs and medical certifications.
    • Manage DOT drug and alcohol testing programs.
    • Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) and ELD requirements.
    • Support DOT audits and compliance reviews.
    • Track and maintain vehicle inspections and maintenance records.
  • Multi-State Regulatory Compliance
    • Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state-specific compliance in MD, VA, NC, KY, and TN.
    • Maintain safety records, logs, postings, and documentation per jurisdictional requirements.
  • Training & Field Support
    • Deliver workplace safety training including:
      • Traffic Control Training
      • OSHA 10-Hour Construction & General Industry
    • Support crews in the field and reinforce safe operating procedures.
  • Incident & Claims Management
    • Investigate workplace incidents and determine root causes.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
    • Aid in Workers' Compensation, Auto, General Liability, and Property Damage claims management.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of safety experience in construction, roadway, manufacturing or related industries.
    • Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction and General Industry standards.
    • Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Experience writing policies, procedures, and SOPs preferred.
    • Trainer certifications are preferred.
    • Experience working in Construction and General Industry environments preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and software-based systems/applications.
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel (10%) as required.
