Responsibilities
- Works on a specific jobsite and collaborates with the safety team and leadership to establish a zero-harm culture.
- Maintains and monitors job site activity for inspections and administrative tasks.
- Documents site conditions, focusing on safety items, through photographs and written reports.
- Reviews site safety conditions and collaborates with project leadership to develop improvement plans, documenting these in electronic formats.
- Conducts specialized employee safety training sessions and prepares detailed reports for the site project team and corporate safety director.
- Holds specialty training sessions as needed and attends monthly supervisor and foreman safety training meetings.
- Reviews and addresses safety concerns raised by employees and project management, documenting incident responses and accident investigations.
- Assists in compiling job activity hazard analyses and ensures compliance with all relevant safety standards.
- Conducts job site orientation for new employees and reviews job hazard analysis and pre-task planning documents.
- Supports the project team in addressing safety or risk issues as they arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred or at least 1-3 years of construction safety experience, or a combination of both.
- Proven track record of successful OSHA/MSHA ratings, loss-work records, EMR trainings, etc.
- OSHA 30 hour training required; OSHA outreach instructor certification (OSHA 500) preferred.
- MSHA 24 hour training; MSHA Blue Card Instructor a plus.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associated Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or other relevant safety certifications desirable.
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
