Safety Professional

About the role

The Safety Professional coordinates and administers site safety programs to ensure full compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety and occupational health standards and procedures. This role provides safety resource support to assigned operating units, including training, permitting, and hazard control guidance. The Safety Professional delivers strong safety and health leadership to ensure all employees return home healthy and safe after each shift. The position requires regular travel to different project locations, and a company vehicle or vehicle allowance is provided. This is a fully on-site role at active construction sites, supporting long-term projects with significant ramp-up activity. The site currently has multiple safety professionals supporting a workforce of over 200 workers, with a target ratio of one Safety Professional for approximately every 29 workers. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, with strong emphasis on completing projects on schedule. There are frequent opportunities for overtime due to project timelines and workload demands. The position requires regular presence in the field, close interaction with tradespersons and site leadership, and travel to different locations as needed. The work involves typical construction site conditions, including exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and active heavy equipment, and requires adherence to appropriate personal protective equipment and site safety protocols. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
