Safety Patrol Supervisor I (Two Positions Available)

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the security and safety of persons and property on the college campus
• Supervising, training, and evaluating patrol officers, and monitoring payroll and paid time off requests by officers when instructed
• Coinciding with Patrol Supervisor II to carry out departmental needs
• Being observant and responding to major incidents or potential criminal activity on campus
• Identifying potential security and safety hazards
• Maintaining good public relations by assisting others as a source of information and direction

Qualifications

• An Associate’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
• A degree or coursework in criminology, law enforcement, business administration, public administration, security management, social work or related fields is preferred and may be considered in place of 2 years of experience
• Candidates must have a minimum of four years of experience in a public safety or security-related role
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred
• Familiarity and interest in working with college-age students are required, including the ability to support a diverse campus community
• Applicants should possess computer proficiency, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively and positively with others are essential
• Ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting, pushing/pulling and/or carrying up to 50 pounds, and standing or walking for extended periods is required
• Able to effectively give first aid, including Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (certification and training to be provided by the College)
• A valid driver's license with a clean record is required at the time of application
