About the role

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between center and immediate community in safety matters;
• Aid in developing and managing the center's master safety plan in include risk assessment, safety and emergency disaster plans;
• Inspect all center areas for safety of facilities and health violations to identify potential hazards; initiate corrective action;
• Absolutely ensure fire extinguishers are available in required locations and in working condition at all times;
• Aid in developing and implementing the occupational safety and health plan;
• Aid in the development of new and revised policies and procedures affecting safety;
• Provide fire and safety procedures and literature to staff and students; develop and implement safety training programs for staff and students on the center safety and health plan; conduct training for staff on OSHA standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, associate's degree preferred;
• Three (3) years experience in safety or related field;
• Knowledge of building security system, maintenance, emergency evacuation, build codes and OSHA certification preferred;
• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required;
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
